Don't Let Stress or Any other Problem Get You Down!

Tap Into Prayer - an Underused Source of Help

Begin right here your exciting journey to discover the most effective way to overcome stress, a relationship problem, debt, self limitation, or any other problems which are all obstacles to your quest for Success and Abundance.

Our journey to get out of debt, improve a relationship problem, overcome our limitations and enjoy a life of abundance and success depends, you may be surprised to know, not only on looking after our body but taking care of our inner self also. Our outward, or physical, health depends to a large extent on it being fed the combination of a balanced diet and exercise on a regular basis.

However there are times when this just does not seem to be enough and no matter how hard you strive you cannot resolve your problem whether it is caused by debt, relationships, work, health, bereavement, stress, or other worries.

“How can I get out of this mess / resolve this problem?” is the thought that goes round and round in your head at night when you lie awake tossing and turning and getting more and more worked up.

At those times you need to realise that you are not going to solve this problem on your own, you must call upon help from a higher power. But if we are to obtain ‘inner strength’
it must make sense to acknowledge that this inner self, or soul, also needs a regular supply of nourishment to enable us to use it effectively.

What are these items of nourishment you ask? They include Good Thoughts, Kind Deeds and, of course, Prayer.

We mistakenly tend to think that spiritual growth is greatest when times are good but in fact often the opposite is true, largely because in good times we are all too busy rushing about doing and thinking of all the material things we must have or the hours we must work to keep up our lifestyles.

It can come as a huge relief and a lowering of stress levels to know that the spiritual side of our self improvement programme is easiest and most receptive when we are worried and at our lowest ebb. This is probably because we suddenly discover that we simply cannot manage on our own. It is then and often in desperation we look beyond our materialist selves and turn to prayer for much needed help and comfort.

It may also be of comfort to you to learn that president Jonathan Edwards wrote, way back in 1830, “We shall have our times of calamity wherein we shall stand in need of God’s pity and help.”

It is recommended that you read all of the articles listed on this Blog which have been written to help you through the difficult times you are experiencing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you...

Relax! Your 5 minute Daily Program for Stress Management

The degree to which you enjoy success and abundance over the long term can be influenced by how well you manage stress in your life. This is because you need to be fit for the long haul and "burn-out", depression and ill health are not your best friends.

Lowering your stress level is one of the ways to help you overcome debt
and other personal problems

“What has time management to do with overcoming debt, a relationship or other problems, success, abundance, or my spiritual growth” you may ask?

On the face of it it may not seem like a lot but read this article and you will find that it makes you stop and think about what is really important in your life. Implement just some of these changes and begin to take charge of your life once again.

We all have a favourite expression when it comes to being stressed out, and I won’t bother naming them! But when it comes down to it, I think that it is how we work, or even relax for that matter, that triggers stress. Ever been stressed even when you're well relaxed and bored? I know I have.

It is important to find ways to decrease and prevent stressful incidents and decrease negative reactions to stress. Here are some of the things that can be done by just remembering it, since life is basically a routine to follow like brushing your teeth or eating breakfast. You can do a few of them in a longer span of time, but as they say “every minute counts”.

Managing time:

Time management skills can allow you more time with your family and friends and possibly increase your performance and productivity. This will help reduce your stress.

To improve your time management:-

Save time by focusing and concentrating, delegating, and scheduling time for yourself.

Keep a record of how you spend your time, including work, family, and leisure time.

Prioritise your time by rating tasks by importance and urgency. Redirect your time to those activities that are important and meaningful to you.

Manage your commitments by not over-, or under-committing. Don't commit to what is not important to you.

Deal with procrastination by using a day planner, breaking large projects into smaller ones, and setting short-term deadlines. Don’t waste time in the morning making a list of everything you have to do, write it up the night before. Where possible do the job you least enjoy tackling early in the day so that you get it out of the way. It’s very satisfying to cross through completed jobs, but don’t beat yourself up if there are uncrossed jobs left at the end of the day. Just carry them on to the next day's list and tell yourself you’ve done the best you could in the time available.

Examine your beliefs to reduce conflict between what you believe and what your life is like. Is there a conflict? If so try to resolve it because spiritual growth is a very important part of your successful self improvement journey to abundance and success.

Build healthy coping strategies -
It is important that you identify your coping strategies. One way to do this is by recording in a stress journal. the event or events which made your stress levels soar, your reaction, and how you coped with it. With this information, you can work to change unhealthy coping strategies into healthy ones - those that help you focus on the positive and what you can change or control in your life.

Lifestyle

Some behaviours and lifestyle choices affect your stress level. They may not cause stress directly, but they can interfere with the ways your body seeks relief from stress. Try to
balance personal, work, and family needs and obligations.

Do you feel that you are swimming against the tide of ever increasing debt with the nearest safe haven looking increasingly far away? Implement some or all of the following suggestions:-

Cut out all unnecessary waste and expense in your life. Start chipping away at it NOW! Aim if at all possible for a simpler/cheaper lifestyle.

Have a sense of purpose in life.

Seek help through prayer

Get enough sleep, since your body recovers from the stresses of the day while you are sleeping.

Eat a balanced diet for a nutritional defense against stress.

Get moderate exercise throughout the week.

Limit your consumption of alcohol and smoking.

Don’t take drugs, except those medically prescribed

Social support

Social support is a major factor in how we experience stress. Social support is the positive support you receive from family, friends, and the community. It is the knowledge that you are cared for, loved, esteemed, and valued. More and more research indicates a strong relationship between social support and better mental and physical health. If you feel you need extra support, and most of us do, then turn to prayer to help and guide you.

Changing thinking

When an event triggers negative thoughts, you may experience fear, insecurity, anxiety, depression, rage, guilt, and a sense of worthlessness or powerlessness. These emotions trigger the body's stress, just as an actual physical threat does. Dealing with your negative thoughts and how you see things can help reduce stress.

Thought-stopping helps you stop a negative thought to help eliminate stress.

Disproving irrational thoughts helps you to avoid exaggerating the negative thought, anticipating the worst, and interpreting an event incorrectly.

Problem solving helps you identify all aspects of a stressful event and find ways to deal with it.

Changing your communication style helps you communicate in a way that makes your views known without making others feel put down, hostile, or intimidated. This reduces the stress that comes from poor communication.

Even writers like me can get stressed even though we're just using our hands to do the talking. Whether you're the mail guy, the CEO, or probably the average working parent, stress is one unwanted visitor you would love to boot out of your homes, and your life. Accept that you may always have some stress in your life but knowing how to deal with it is what matters most.
